Fronius International has launched the Fortis series, a highly adaptable welding solution designed for the specific needs of the refractory and industrial construction sectors. This new series provides a manual MIG/MAG welding solution that can be customized with additional Fronius functions to enhance operational efficiency.
Showcased at prominent trade fairs, such as Schweissen & Schneiden in Essen and Fabtech in Chicago, the Fortis series encompasses devices with amperage capacities ranging from 270 to 500 A. These units can be configured as compact all-in-one systems or as split systems with an external wire feeder, offering contractors and plant engineers flexibility in workflow.
One significant addition is the Fortis XT, compatible with three-phase mains voltages from 200 to 600 V and capable of single-phase operation up to 320 A. This versatility allows for worldwide deployment and aims to enhance energy efficiency through a higher power factor.
The Fortis Duo further extends operational potential by enabling the use of two wire spools and two welding torches with a single device. This feature is designed to simplify the welder’s workflow, allowing for quick transitions between different materials and wire diameters without retooling, ultimately saving time.
Fronius focuses on the dynamic nature of welding tasks in industrial settings, emphasizing the need for equipment that can handle new materials and various seam shapes. With optimization for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, Fortis models support up to 240 welding characteristics tailored for challenging applications, including vertical seams and thin sheet welding.
Key aspects of the Fortis series include:
- Integration with multiple Fronius functions to enhance welding performance, providing operators considerable versatility.
- User-friendly operation with a 7″ color display and a menu available in over 30 languages, catering to both experienced and novice welders.
- Resource-efficient design, utilizing 53% recyclable aluminum and reducing overall environmental impact without compromising durability.
The Fortis series is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of industrial construction, enabling companies to remain competitive while ensuring high-quality welding results.
For contractors and plant engineers, this represents an opportunity to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and adapt easily to changing project requirements.
