EAFA Roller Group elects new leadership

The Roller Group of the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA) has appointed new leadership to enhance the industry’s direction and collaboration. Göksal Güngör, General Manager of Assan Alüminyum, has been elected as the new Chair, succeeding Bruno Rea, while Nicoletta Rigamonti from Carcano Antonio will serve as Vice Chair.

This leadership change was announced during the EAFA Autumn Conference held in Paris, where the group discussed the vital role aluminium foil plays in sustainable packaging and energy solutions in Europe. The EAFA, founded in 1974, is the principal trade association representing companies involved in the rolling and manufacturing of aluminium foil across Europe, boasting over 40 members.

Göksal Güngör brings a wealth of experience in sustainable production, energy efficiency, and international market strategy, which will be instrumental for the Roller Group in navigating future challenges and opportunities in the industry.

In his remarks, Güngör expressed gratitude to Bruno Rea for his dedicated leadership, emphasizing the importance of fostering collaboration and efficiency within the field: “I look forward to building on this solid foundation and working with the members of the Roller Group to create new momentum for efficiency, competitiveness, and circularity.”

For contractors and plant engineers, this leadership transition signifies:

  • A renewed focus on sustainable practices, crucial for aligning with industry regulations and customer demands.
  • Opportunities for collaboration on projects aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and reducing waste in industrial processes.
  • The potential for increased involvement in advancements that streamline operations and improve competitiveness within the field.
